HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – In honor of the worth of the Juneteenth vacation, Madison County District 6 Commissioner Violet Edwards hosted the second one annual nation dialog.

“I just wanted something powerful on today dealing with race and a lot of people still don’t understand Juneteenth and why it’s important,” Edwards defined. “But I think today is a day to empower the community to focus on the impact that we make in the community and what better way to do it than to pull us together and to talk about race.”
Leaders in govt, faith and schooling gave examples of the way they had been overpassed because of their ethnic variations however old it to advertise racial cohesion.
“It makes me feel like, wow, our color does mean something right? We don’t want to be color blind; we want to be color brave,” panel moderator Karockas Watkins stated.
